Sensor sizes
Every lens is designed to cover a
specific sensor type.
Sensor size is important in
photography because it has an
impact upon image quality.
If youhave two cameras with the samepixel count, but one has a physically larger sensor than the other, the one with the larger sensor will usually produce better quality images.
You can use lenses that aren’t made
for your sensor, but you’ll get two side
effects, one of them is cropping.
Crop is what happens when you use
a lenses designed for a larger sensor
on a smaller one.
Crop Factors
Vignetting is when you use a lenses
designed for a smaller sensor on a
bigger one.
